Spanish Gambas al Ajillo

(Prawns Sizzle with Garlic)


Gambas al Ajillo is a very traditional tapa dish....It is very simple to make but yet packs a punch...

Ingredients needed:

  • 20 prawns
  • 3 cloves of garlic minced
  • parsley
  • Olive Oil
  • 1 cup of cognac

Cooking Instructions

Heat up the olive oil in a big pan, once the oil is hot add the garlic and cook it until golden

Add the prawns and cook till pink on one side and then flip them to cook the other side once fully cooked add the cognac and light it up (flambé)

When the flame goes out sprinkle the parsley and take the prawns out of the pan

Season with some sweet or hot paprika to taste
